Amy Clark, Psy.D., Snohomish, WA, Psychologist
I am a Clinical Psychologist licensed in the State of Washington with six years of graduate education in psychology and over twenty years of clinical experience. I obtained my Doctorate in Psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA; completed my pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral residency at Seattle Mental Health. To qualify for licensing as a Psychologist I passed a national written and oral examination in the State of Washington.
People often ask me why I became a psychologist. When I was growing up I was inspired by an aunt who had a special way of making me the center of her universe when we were together. She truly taught me the meaning of unconditional positive regard before I had even learned the phrase.
Both children and adults need someone in their lives who helps them to feel not only heard but seen. We can truly grow when we have a witness to walk our path with us. I wanted to find a career where I could provide acceptance, as well as guidance, to the people I work with.
I am passionate about providing a trusting, confidential, and comfortable environment for my clients so they can feel accepted while they struggle to understand themselves and the issues that bring them to counseling.
Amy’s Snohomish, WA, Therapy Office
I have maintained a private practice in Washington for over twenty years. Currently I see clients in-person in my Snohomish therapy office as well as online via secure video.
Post licensure, I continue to complete ongoing continuing education in various subjects pertaining to psychological practice.
When I started my practice, I specialized in serving children, adolescents, and adults and have since transitioned into seeing only adults.
I have a strong background in developmental theory and attachment, which I believe helps me to deeply understand the lifelong struggles that individuals have in their adult lives.
