Teletherapy

Video therapy is often referred to as “telehealth” or “teletherapy.” It can also be called “telemedicine” or “telepsychology.” I have obtained continuing education training in telepsychology practices and hold a Washington State Telemedicine Training Certificate awarded by the Washington State Telehealth Collaborative.

Teletherapy has been shown to be as effective as in person treatment for a variety of mental health concerns. Often clients prefer the convenience of being able to participate in counseling from the comfort or their own home or office, and it allows me to work with individuals across the state of Washington.

In this way, clients who were not able to access care before telehealth are now able to participate in counseling with a provider of their choice.

Teletherapy is only recommended for individuals who have access to a computer, phone, or tablet with a stable internet connection with information security.

The location needs to have sufficient light and privacy so that it is free from distractions and intrusions.

Other people cannot be in the room or within hearing of your session. Not all insurance companies cover telehealth services so it will be up to you to contact your insurance company and determine your eligibility.

PsyPact

As a member of PsyPact, I am able to treat clients in certain states across the US.

Each person’s need in therapy is as unique as they are. Finding the right provider with the right competencies is an essential part of getting the best therapy. PsyPact relieves the limitations of physical location, broadening that crucial search, and making the exact right fit easier to find.

What is PsyPact?

Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PsyPact) gives accredited members jurisdiction over certain states  via telehealth or other special services.

My own practice within PsyPact will be focused solely on telehealth.

Unlike subscription-based therapy options, PsyPact practitioners are always screened and accredited, assuring that you will be receiving the most professional and experienced care.

 Is PsyPact Right for You?

Treatment over telehealth has been shown to be as effective as in-person therapy sessions for many individuals.

As always, your therapy will be as unique as the journey that brought you to it. For some, telehealth is the perfect answer for treatment, given flexibility, convenience, and specialization. Still, for others, telehealth might not be the best path for your needs.

I will work with you to evaluate what I can recommend given the resources available to you, as well as my own.

Due to the nature of PsyPact as an interstate service, treatment through PsyPact is not covered under health insurance.

All fees for care under PsyPact must be made out of pocket.
